The Second Annual 9-Hole Olympics and Quarter Auction benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association is upon us again. This year’s event will be held at Wolf Run Golf Course 1400 Wolf Run Rd on Friday, July 11th, 2008 at 3:00 pm.

As many as 5.2 million people in the United States are living with Alzheimer’s. Every 71 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer's is the seventh-leading cause of death. 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer's in their lifetime. The direct and indirect costs of Alzheimer's and other dementias to Medicare, Medicaid and businesses amount to more than $148 billion each year. This disease is on its way to epidemic status and something has to be done.
